Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to join our growing IT security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safeguarding our organization’s information systems by proactively monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity threats. This role involves a combination of hands-on technical expertise, critical thinking, and communication skills to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our digital assets.

You will work collaboratively across departments, assist in incident response planning, maintain security tools and systems, and help enforce security policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor SIEM systems for potential threats, suspicious behavior, or breaches.
  • Investigate security incidents, analyze logs, determine root causes, and coordinate response efforts.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attacker tactics.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist with remediation and patching efforts.
  • Manage and optimize firewalls, EDR, IPS, antivirus, and other cybersecurity tools.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of security policies and best practices.
  • Assist with audits and ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, or NIST guidelines.
  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training to staff and end-users.
  • Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and leadership on security risks and mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT security analyst role.
  • Experience with SIEM tools, firewalls, antivirus, EDR, and IPS technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, networking protocols, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Understanding of NIST, ISO 27001, or similar cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) – a plus
  • Cloud security certifications (AWS, Azure) preferred
